Visit the D-Day Beaches
The D-Day beaches are now recognized as a symbol of peace. To remember these events and pay tribute, thousands of families and individuals continue to visit and honor the duty of remembrance. Come and explore this symbolic place, where Normandy saw the arrival of Allied soldiers on its shores on June 6, 1944, during one of the darkest times in history — during a stay in La Manche.
Discover the Key Moments of D-Day
The D-Day beaches are located at the mouth of the Orne River in the Cotentin Peninsula. They were part of the most secretly planned operation of the Second World War. Prepared for months by British and American command, the Normandy landings were the result of a vast campaign of misinformation. Thanks to deliberately spread false rumors among German spy networks—suggesting landings in Northern France or even Norway—thousands of soldiers were able to carry out the operation across the five beaches and Pointe du Hoc.
